The Chihuahua comes from an ancient breed kept as pets by the Toltec and Aztec empires. Over the years there has been a change in the breed that has brought us the modern day Chihuahua. Today there are two forms of the Chihuahua breed that vary from the original breed. The Chihuahua is an extremely individualistic breed with no two dogs having the same temperament. The breed is the perfect dog for some households while others would not be suitable for a Chihuahua. In exchange for a lot of human contact you will gain a dog that is highly loyal and protective of you. They are extremely bold and make excellent watchdogs.
